Racecomp Engineering Releases Tarmac 2 Coilovers for Subaru Impreza
Discuss This Article

Racecomp Engineering is proud to announce their highly anticipated Tarmac 2 coilovers, a complete coilover solution for Subaru Impreza. For 3 years, Racecomp Engineering has been regarded as the authority on suspension and brake components in the Subaru Impreza community, focusing on the track day and hardcore enthusiast. Playing vital roles in the research and development of innovative motorsports parts, Racecomp Engineering has provided unique solutions that no other vendor can offer. Racecomp Engineering fills the gaps in needed areas of the already potent design of the STi version Impreza, with ground-breaking RCE Super Sport lowering springs, an ingenious and original camber plate design, and the motorsports worthy Kool Brake Kit.

With much success in coilover sales and properly mating end users with a suspension that best suits their needs, Racecomp Engineering has again filled the gap and addressed the niche market of the Impreza STi version model years 2004-2007 (including 02-03 WRX) with the introduction of their own threaded body dampers (coilovers).

Racecomp Engineering Tarmac 2 coilovers are comprised of Stainless Steel dampers mated to linear race springs, incorporating a true 2 way design with separate compression and rebound adjustments, motorsports level spring rates, composite locking perches with safety perches added, piggyback reservoirs on all front dampers, and will feature a limited lifetime warranty.

Racecomp Engineering chose KW Suspension to co-brand the Tarmac 2 coilovers due to their remarkable racing heritage, consistent and impressive build quality, and phenomenal presence and support in the United States. Racecomp Engineering and KW Suspension have jointly worked on and added many differentiating options and features to the design of an already tried and proven damper.

Racecomp Engineering will offer the following in their Tarmac 2 coilovers:

* 2-way design with separate compression and rebound adjustments.
* upgraded spring rates. (500lbs/in front, 400lbs/in rear)
* stainless steel corrosion resistant coating.
* double locking perches.
* unique paint scheme.
* limited lifetime warranty through KW.
* USA based technical support.
* wide range of spring rates supported without a revalve.
* optional camber plates.
* introductory price of $1895.00

After emerging as an exceptional knowledge resource for Impreza suspension applications through years of first hand experience with nearly every suspension option available for the Subaru Impreza, Racecomp Engineering can now provide their own solution that truly caters to the core of Subaru track day and race enthusiasts.

Racecomp Engineering Tarmac 2 coilovers are available now. Please call for further information.

    I would have liked to know whether these were rebuildable, and the size of the piston. I am sure others with more knowledge have other things they would like to know, but at a basic level, and by basic I mean someone purchasing coilovers for the first time, there are some things that I thing would be of benefit for the consumer to know before purchase.
