Jones to race with Subaru Road Racing Team as at Homestead-Miami Speedway
Prototype sportscar star and Indycar driver Davy Jones joins Subaru Road Racing Team drivers Dave Rosenblum, Chuck Hemmingson, and Kristian Skavnes for the outfit's first race of the 2007 Grand-Am Koni Challenge Series at Homestead-Miami Speedway on April 13-15, 2007. At the same event, the team will debut its Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT spec.B racecars – #111 and #141 in the Street Tuner (ST) class.
Davy Jones brings considerable experience and racing success to the team. At 19, Jones finished 3rd in Britain's Formula 3 Championship in 1983. Afterwards, he joined Tom Walkinshaw Racing (TWR) and Jaguar Cars to win 12 GTP races, posting 12 GTP wins and 60 top-10 finishes in 73 starts. From 1990 to 1994, Jones competed in the All-Star International Race of Champions Series (IROC). He is one of only seven Americans to win the grueling 24 Hours of Le Mans and has competed in the Indianapolis 500, finishing 2nd – both in 1996.
