Vauxhall Racing Sets Pace for Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship Series
Vauxhall Racing dominated the track with two victories at the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship at Rockingham Motor Speedway in the UK. Their racing form at this race was similar to the style which earned the team triple championships four years in a row.

Months of hard work developing a prototype car eventually paid off for Vauxhall with two victories and two podiums over the weekend. This puts the team ahead in both the BTCC Manufacturers and Teams Championships after six rounds.

Fabrizio Giovanardi led the Vauxhall Vectras to a one-two victory in the first race. The domination continued in round five as Tom Chilton battled Tom Onslow-Cole for second place behind Giovanardi. They traded second and third place back and fourth for the final laps until Chilton ran out of track and landed in third place.

“The team is leaving Rockingham really happy,” said Chilton. “We are leading in points in the Manufacturers Championship. When a car is quick on one circuit, it’s generally quick everywhere.”

Vauxhall uses K&N Engineering Air Filters. “The Vauxhall team uses K&N Products made in Warrington,” said Ian Burdis of K&N Europe. “They are made specifically for race cars or for race teams.”

Vauxhall Racing is in a very strong position as it heads to Thruxton Motorsports at Andover, UK for the next round. “We’ve got a wining ethic,” said Ian Harrison, of Vauxhall Racing’s Team. “Everybody’s hard work has paid off. This is why we put the long hours in.”
