New Fidanza Twin-Disc Performance Clutch Line Is Twice As Nice
PERRY, Ohio - Performance enthusiasts are all too familiar with the age-old equation: more horsepower = less drivability.  This has been especially true of twin-disc clutch kits, virtual "on/off" switches with awful street manners.  Fortunately, the Fidanza finishing school has graduated an entirely new class of civilized twin-disc clutch kits bred for good behavior.

Fidanza twin-disc performance clutches are engineered to tackle up to 800 horsepower while stock pedal pressure is virtually unchanged and engagement feels as smooth as a typical Stage 3 single-disc clutch.

"For far too long you had to sacrifice drivability to use a twin-disc clutch set-up," said Bob Scheid, vice president, Fidanza.  "So what could you do when your car was making too much power for a conventional clutch?  We found the answer using superior production materials and proprietary new designs.  Our twin-disc clutch kits prove you can have performance with proper etiquette.  We're here to tell you - driving your street car to the track can be enjoyable!"

Using smaller 8 3/4" diameter discs, Fidanza has carefully controlled the rotating mass of its clutches - while maintaining a sizeable surface area for optimum gripping power - which perform better due to their relative low moment of inertia.  As a result, the transmission is able to rev faster, which allows for rapidly matched transmission shifts.

As well, Fidanza has strapped the floater plate on all of its clutches to eliminate the annoying rattle twin-disc units are known for.

Fidanza twin-disc clutch kits include the pressure plate, floater plate and twin-discs as well as a lightweight Fidanza performance flywheel.  Stage 1 (650 lbs.-ft.) and Stage 2 (825 lbs.-ft.) kits are available.  Best of all, there is only one part number to reference per kit, making selection a quick and easy process.

Beginning in March 2007, Fidanza introduced twin-disc clutch applications for the C5 and C6 Corvette (5.7L; 6.0L; 7.0L), 1998-2002 Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird (5.7L) and 2004-2006 Pontiac GTO (5.7L; 6.0L), as well as the 1986-1995 (302 5.0L), 1996-2004 (4.6L GT; Mach I; Bullit; Cobra) and 2005-2006 (4.6L GT) Ford Mustang.

Fidanza plans to rapidly expand its twin-disc clutch line throughout the remainder of the year, concentrating on sport compact applications including the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution and Nissan 350Z.
