Derrick Malcolm drove his No.92 Nissan Sentra SE-R to victory at Willow Springs in Rosamond, California. He won both races in the NASA (National Auto Sport Association) Performance Touring Series (PTD) over the weekend.
“Willow Springs is one of my favorite tracks,” said Malcolm. “There are big Kahuna type turns where you can go really fast.” The wind and the dust were blowing hard during the races. “At one point we faced 60 mph winds,” said Malcolm. “By the time I hit top speed I couldn’t shift into 5th gear.”
Malcolm uses K&N Engineering products. “I can always count on my K&N Air and Oil Filters,” he said. “K&N gives me more horsepower and keeps the dust and dirt out of my engine. I am the points dominator, with a substantial lead over the rest of the pack.”
NASA is an amateur racing program which has more than 10,000 members in 15 chapters across the United States. Malcolm is a veteran High Performance Driving Event (HPDE) driver in the southern California chapter.
Malcolm’s next race will take place in June at Buttonwillow Raceway Park.
