New Cobb Street and Racing Turbo Downpipes for the 2005 Legacy GT and Outback XT Models

Today, Cobb Tuning announced the release of both a Street and Racing downpipe for the Subaru Legacy GT (5MT) and Outback XT models.  Constructed from 304 Stainless Steel and fully TIG welded, the Cobb downpipe is designed to replace the factory downpipe and main catalytic converter section of the stock exhaust. It is 100% bolt-on and will bolt directly to the factory turbocharger.  This downpipe replaces the stock exhaust components until the "cat-back" or "after-cat" section. While the Cobb downpipe is designed to bolt up to the factory cat-back components, it is compatible with the Cobb cat-back exhaust, or any aftermarket cat-back system designed to bolt to the factory main catalytic converter.

This downpipe was designed SPECIFICALLY for the Legacy GT/Outback XT and is NOT a retrofit from another vehicle. In addition, a unique downpipe exists for both the Manual Transmission vehicle and Automatic Transmission vehicles. This is due to very different under-carriage subframes and mounting locations. Careful and thoughtful attention to detail features include proper rear O2 sensor placement so no trimming of the under-carriage heat shield is required. Undercar ground clearance is NOT reduced when using this downpipe.

Available in Street (with catalytic converter) or Race (without catalytic converter) versions. May not be legal for highway use. Interior exhaust noise will increase slightly when installing the Downpipe. For the quietest setup, it is suggested to use the Street Version of the downpipe which includes a high-flow catalytic converter.
