Broadview, IL (9/21/06) –
Blaupunkt is now shipping two new CD/MP3 car audio receivers, each combining outstanding sound quality with high-end features including full-graphic display, DigiCeiver digital AM/FM tuner, DEQ Max six-band parametric equalizer with included acoustic calibration microphone, and a built-in USB port to connect to external storage devices for MP3 and picture files. The Memphis MP66 boasts a 3.2-inch full-color TFT graphic display, and the St Louis MP56 features Blaupunkt's Variocolor display with 4,096 selectable colors to match any interior lighting scheme.

The Blaupunkt Memphis MP66 and the St. Louis MP56 include a superior-quality CD player with MP3 compatibility, as well as a USB port that allows drivers to effortlessly add as much storage as they want for digital media. This feature enables owners to plug a portable hard drive into the receiver for simple and fast access to all of their MP3s and digital photographs. Additionally, picture and music files can be played back directly from an internal MMC/SD card slot.

Both the Blaupunkt Memphis MP66 and the St. Louis MP56 boast a powerful array of integration capabilities for a broad range of in-car entertainment and information equipment. Each offers an auxiliary input for use with satellite radio or video equipment, four-channel preamp outputs, and a variable subwoofer output. They also provide telephone/navigation inputs for use with cell phone and navigation systems, and are compatible with Blaupunkt’s optional iPod interface, giving users the ability to playback and control their iPods using the receiver’s CD Changer controls, view ID3 tag info on the receiver faceplate, and even recharge the iPod battery while it is being used in the car.

The Memphis MP66 and the St. Louis MP56 each include Blaupunkt's exclusive DEQ Max six-band parametric equalizer, allowing for remarkably fine-tuned performance in any vehicle. Each channel of the equalization circuit can be manually adjusted, or the radio's included calibration microphone can be employed to automatically adjust EQ settings for optimal performance, making it easier than ever to enjoy sound custom-tailored for your car's cockpit. Lastly, the models include programmable bass, treble, and XBASS EQ functions to round out the powerful sonic adjustments.

Additional features include Blaupunkt's acclaimed DigiCeiver all digital tuner for crystal clear AM/FM radio reception, a ten second shock-proof memory feature to eliminate disc skips and dropouts on the road, and a detachable/flip-down faceplate that creates an attractive appearance and enhances theft protection.

The Memphis MP66 and the St. Louis MP56 are currently available at suggested retail prices of $499 and $299 each, respectively.
