TORRANCE, Calif., Sept. 19, 2006 – Alpine Electronics, Inc., the industry-leading manufacturer of high-performance mobile electronics, today announced a new way for consumers to “fall” into savings on a complete car-audio system with the company’s new fall promotion. With the promotion, consumers can get a 400 watt Alpine sound system beginning at only $699 (installation not included). The promotion kicks off at participating authorized Alpine retailers in the U.S. on Oct. 1, and runs through Dec. 25.

The featured package includes:

  • CDA-9856 CD/MP3/WMA Ai-NET receiver
  • KCE-422i Full Speed™ Connection for iPod® cable
  • MRP-M450 mono amplifier
  • SPS-17C2 6.5-inch coaxial 2-way speakers (2 pairs)
  • SWS-1042D 10-inch dual 4-ohm subwoofer

Promotional pricing on additional packages also is available through participating Alpine dealers. iPod is not included.

This system has the capability to connect additional digital media sources for an enhanced in-car experience. When an iPod is connected to the CDA-9856 using the supplied KCE-422i cable, the iPod controls are transferred to the head unit. Playlist, artist, song and album information are displayed on the CDA-9856. As well, the CDA-9856’s Ai-NET connection allows for access and control of other media sources such as XM® or SIRIUS® satellite radio, HD Radio™, Bluetooth™ wireless functions and USB-based MP3 players (with the addition of Alpine interface adaptors, tuner boxes and subscriptions, sold separately).

“Alpine is offering consumers a great way to bring their digital lifestyle on the road with them at a great price,” said Stephen Witt, vice president, Marketing, Alpine Electronics. “This system gives consumers exceptional sound plus all the flexibility they need to add their favorite media sources, for an exceptional in-vehicle experience.”

The campaign will launch with print ads in targeted mobile electronics and trade publications. Dealer support will include in-store posters, danglers and a CD ad kit with templates of pre-made ads, postcards and promotional flyers to make it easy for retailers to synchronize their local marketing activities with the national promotion. The ad kit also includes all the logos and product photos needed for retailers to create customized collateral tailored for their own store. Dealers will be informed about the promotion via the quarterly “Solutions” dealer newsletter. The promotion will be prominently displayed on the Alpine homepage (www.alpine-usa.com) and announced in the “In Tune With Alpine” email newsletter sent to consumers in the Alpine database.
