Long Beach, CA, October 17, 2006 – In advance of the automotive accessory industry's leading trade show, SEMA, Kenwood USA Corporation has announced two new in-dash receivers with enhanced performance and convenience features at affordable price points. The new models, the KDC-MP235 and KDC-135 will be available this year and offer extraordinary value, with features found typically on higher priced models.
The new KDC-MP235 offers a removable faceplate with an AUX input for easy connection of an external audio source such as a disc player, or an i-Pod™ digital music player when used with the Kenwood KCA-iP500 i-Pod adapter. The receiver incorporates Kenwood’s Supreme audio feature, which notably improves the sound quality and fidelity of MP3, WMA and AAC compressed music files. The KDC-MP235 has 50 watts x 4 of built-in MOSFET power amplification and includes one 2-volt pre-out terminals for connection with external amplifiers. The pre-out circuit is switchable for use with a powered subwoofer or a rear channel amplifier and includes a low-pass filter (LPF), a level adjustment and bass boost circuit for the best bass performance when adding a subwoofer to the system.
In addition to a built in AM/FM tuner the KDC-MP235 is HD Radio Ready, which can be used with Kenwood's KTC-HR100TR HD Radio tuner and is Satellite Radio Ready, which requires the purchase of an accessory tuner of either Sirius or XM Satellite Radio and requires a subscription. For safer hands-free cell phone calls, connect Kenwood's KCA-BT100 Bluetooth Adapter to the receiver and control incoming and outgoing calls, even download the contents of your phonebook to the receiver and view it on the front panel FL display. For ease of use from the front and rear seats, the new receiver also has a wireless remote control. The KDC-MP235 will be available in December, 2006 with a suggested retail price of $120.
The KDC-135 in-dash receiver also offers excellent value with a removable faceplate panel containing an AUX input for connection to external audio sources or an i-Pod. It has built-in MOSFET power output of 50 watts x 4 and has one 2-volt pre-out connector with switchable operation for connection to a rear channel amplifier or a powered subwoofer. The receiver incorporates a low-pass filter (LPF) for use with a subwoofer, a level-adjustment for the subwoofer pre-out, a bass-boost circuit for enhanced low frequency performance and has Kenwood’s System Q feature, which provides preset EQ curves for different genres of music, (Rock, Jazz, Pop, etc.). The LCD display allows easy viewing of the receiver's settings, radio frequencies and music genre. The new KDC-135 will be available in December, 2006 and carries a suggested retail price of $80.
